‘Let’s Bake’ Theme Party Idea
‘Let’s Bake’ Party
The post today is not about a recipe but about how to organize a fun party for kids. I planned this little party for my daughter and her friends which became a great success, the kids had a great time but I got a few queries regarding its organization, so here I am giving an idea about how I did it.It’s not difficult to do if you plan a little in advance.
I chose this theme because my daughter loves assembling her own pizza and icing her cupcakes.
First the invite, it was put together by my eldest son, keeping in mind the blue color, which was a common factor, and the bake theme.
The Aprons were actually kitchen towels, the corners were cut and stitched. A thick black ribbon was attached to go around the neck and to tie at the back. They were later given as return gifts.
We had three stations, a pizza station, a burger station and a cupcakes station.
For the pizza station, I had mini pizza bases because they are easier to assemble and take just about 10 minutes to bake.
With the base, I had a bottle of pizza sauce, finely chopped tomatoes and capsicum, corn, fried chicken qeema and grated mozzarella cheese. Alongside were bottles of pizza seasoning and chilli flakes.
For the burger station, I had burger buns, sliced horizontally. There were plates of sliced tomatoes, onions, cheese slices, potato patties( store bought and deep fried) and a bowl of ketchup. I forgot the mayonnaise but the kids didn’t miss it.
For the Cupcake station, a little more work is required. I baked 24 vanilla cupcakes. Whipped up some whipping cream, divided into 5 parts, added colours to each part, pink, purple, blue, green and yellow.
Filled them into icing bags with various nozzles. I used my cupcake tray to put the toppings, which were 10 in all. There were Gems, Gummy bears, silver balls, chocolate chips, chocolate vermicelli, various sprinkles and confetti. The cupcakes done by the children were packed in individual boxes and given as return gifts.
We started with the aprons, then the pizzas were done, when the kids started with the burgers, I quickly put the pizzas in the oven for 10 minutes. At the same time, the burgers were made and microwaved for 30 secs each to melt the cheese, so the burgers and pizzas were had, then they went on to the cupcakes. There was so much excitement about choosing colours and designs, it took the longest time and was enjoyed the most.
The cupcakes were refrigerated, till further needed.
After this, there were three games, Chef says, similar to Simon says, Passing the parcel and Guess the ingredients( a bowl of macaroni hot pot was kept on the table and children had to guess the ingredients)
Along with the macaroni, there were French fries, drinks, cake and other snacks for the kids to be savoured.
The kids went back happy with their aprons and cupcakes which made me very happy and content.
Hope you liked the idea, do add in your little touches if you try this theme. I will be happy if you give me the feedback.☺☺
