Falafel are these crisp and yummy patties made of ground chickpeas, they are easy to put together and ideally served with Tahini or Hummus.
They are a common street food in Middle East, served as Pita Pockets.
We got up today to a foggy morning. Yay!! Winters have begun!
What better way to welcome the winters than to have these piping hot falafels. The Chickpeas had been soaked for a different purpose but were used to make these yummies because the weather demanded it. So here they are, serve them straight out of the pan with a piping hot cup of tea. Enjoy the winters.
2 cups of chickpeas, soaked overnight and ground to a paste.
2 small onions finely chopped
1 small bunch Coriander leaves, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp chilli powder
1-2 tsp cumin powder
2-3 tbsp cornflour
Salt to taste
Oil to deep fry
Mix all ingredients together except the oil, adjust the salt and chilli powder according to your taste. Make small patties.
Heat the oil in a wok, deep fry the patties on medium high heat till golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon on absorbent paper.
Serve hot with the sauce of your choice and fresh salad.
Note- These freeze very well.
